Rick Richardson is a consultant in Spencer Stuart's Stamford office, and brings more than 25 years of executive search experience to his client work. He is a member of the firm's global Technology, Communications & Media, Financial Officer, Financial Services and Private Equity practices. Working with consultants both internationally and throughout the U.S., Rick specializes in recruiting senior-level executives for leading public and privately held organizations experiencing rapid growth and change.
During his 20 years with Spencer Stuart, Rick has successfully led more than 550 search assignments across a broad range of industry sectors, including media and communications, publishing, entertainment, e-commerce, information services, digital media, business services, consumer services, market/financial data, diversified financial services and private equity/portfolio company environments.
An industry generalist, Rick's functional experience includes assignments for chief executive officer, president, chief operating officer, chief financial officer (areas such as tax, investor relations, treasury and audit), as well as senior functional leaders in marketing, information technology, human resources, operations, customer service and strategy and business development.
Rick frequently serves as an adviser to chief executive officers, boards, private equity principals, human resource executives and others on new position development, organizational alignment, compensation, equity and contract structuring issues.
Prior to Spencer Stuart, Rick was a partner in another large search firm and, earlier, served as director of corporate staffing for a national telecommunications company. Rick is a past board member of Junior Achievement and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Fairfield County. Rick is married with two children, ages 19 and 14. He is a competitive tennis, paddle tennis and golfing aficionado.
