Tami Goven is a consultant in Spencer Stuart's New York office and a member of the firm's Consumer Goods & Services and Private Equity practices. She specializes in senior-level general management and functional executive searches for clients in retail, apparel, luxury goods, and the consumer durables and packaged goods industries.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Tami was a client engagement leader at Bain & Company in London, where she served a broad range of corporate and private equity clients in the retail, consumer goods, industrial and telecommunications industries. Her expertise was in the development and delivery of corporate and portfolio strategies, the turnaround and restructuring of public and private-equity backed companies, organization design, and the internal and external communication strategies required for successful execution of corporate and organizational change.
Prior to joining Bain in London, Tami was with General Catalyst Partners, a U.S. venture capital firm, where she invested in early-stage companies developing innovative commerce-enabling services and technology. While at General Catalyst Partners, Tami worked closely with portfolio company chief executives and their management teams, providing business-building and partnership development assistance. Before serving as an investor, Tami was a member of the founding management team of a successful venture-backed online services company, where she led product and business development. She began her career with Bain & Company in Boston.
Tami earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and public policy, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Duke University. She is a member of the New York Junior League.
