Filomena Leonardi is a senior member of Spencer Stuart’s Life Sciences Practice, focusing on the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. Within those sectors, she leads recruiting assignments for senior-level positions in research and development, sales and marketing and general management. Filomena is also a member of Spencer Stuart’s Human Resources Practice.
Filomena brings to her client work a global perspective and significant insight into the cultural dimensions that affect the selection and appointment of senior-level executives. During her career, she has consulted on leadership and management issues for organizations in Asia-Pacific, Europe and the United States.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Filomena was a partner at the New York office of another global search firm, and previously had led its Asia-Pacific life sciences practice, based in Sydney. As a search consultant, she has conducted senior-level executive searches for a variety of clients in the global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, specialty pharmaceutical, and technology and professional services sectors.
Prior to joining the search industry, Filomena had a significant career in management consulting in the U.S., Europe and Australia. Filomena started her career in the financial services industry, in systems design. At IBM, she led the commercialization and roll out of innovative information management tools in the U.S. and Europe. After completing her M.B.A., Filomena joined Bain & Co. as a consultant.
Filomena holds a B.S. in industrial chemistry from the University of New South Wales, and an M.B.A. from the Australian Graduate School of Management (UNSW).
