Joseph H. Boccuzi focuses on CEO, board, and other senior executive level recruiting for clients in the medical device, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors -- as well as for private equity and venture capital firms specializing in global healthcare investments.
Joe has been instrumental in creating and building the firm’s Life Sciences Practice, and served as global practice leader from 1998 until 2008. He has also served on the firm’s board of directors. Joe has led a broad array of noteworthy global CEO and board director assignments conducted across the Life Sciences practice.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Joe had a combination of corporate management, venture capital and executive search experience. He spent seven years with Xerox Corporation in marketing and sales management positions and taught sales and management programs at the Xerox's International Training Center. He was also with National Patent Development Corporation, a venture capital firm specializing in medical technology investing throughout the U.S. and worldwide. While there, he managed four medical startup operations, serving as chief operating officer, board member and adviser to the board of directors. He was an executive recruiter with another international search organization prior to joining Spencer Stuart.
Joe graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biological and general science from Yankton College and attended business school at the University of Hartford. He and his wife, Ellen, reside in New York City and Naples, Florida.
