Nick Young is a member of Spencer Stuart’s North American Board & CEO Practice, the firm’s global Industrial Practice and Private Equity Practice. As a strategic advisor, he works with boards, CEOs and a range of private equity firms and corporations to build world class leadership teams. In his role, Nick works closely with clients and consultants across all industry, functional and regional sectors to customize our unique product offering to meet our clients’ needs. He provides executive search consulting services for U.S. and international clients in a variety of sectors including private equity, financial services, board services, consumer products, chemicals, natural resources and industrial manufacturing.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Nick was vice president of Citibank, where he headed the Global Gold Business, which provided corporate finance and investment banking services to governments, corporations and investors. Previously, he held executive management positions with leading multinational corporations including AMAX, RTZ (Kennecott) and Anglo American (Hudson Bay Mining).
Nick has a comprehensive list of industrial clients including large multinational companies, as well as smaller, more entrepreneurial or private equity owned businesses. He conducts assignments for chairmen, CEOs, presidents, COOs, board members and division presidents. Examples of his CEO searches include Armstrong World Industries, Borden Chemicals, Carpenter Technology, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Hercules, Honeywell International , Hubbell, Ionics, Nalco, Praxair, TriMas Corporation, W.R. Grace, Walter Industries and Walter Energy. Board search experience includes Engelhard, Foster Wheeler, Honeywell International, Nalco, Newmont Mining, Parsons, Praxair, Spartech, Vulcan Materials and Walter Industries, to name a few.
Nick has extensive business experience throughout Latin America, Europe and Asia. He is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
