Frank Birkel is based in Spencer Stuart’s Munich office and is a member of the firm’s global Consumer Goods & Services Practice.
Prior to Spencer Stuart, Frank was with William Wrigley Jr. Company, where he started as managing director, Germany and rose to the position of vice-president, Western Europe. In addition, he headed the global oral care business unit, where he was responsible for innovation, initiative roll out and brand development. He was an elected officer of the Wrigley Company and a member of the European board.
Frank started his career as a client manager for Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising in Frankfurt. After that, he spent over eight years with Procter & Gamble Co. mainly in marketing and sales roles, finally as marketing director fabric & home care for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He was also a member of the German leadership team.
Frank is a graduate of the Ludwig-Maximillians-University of Munich, where he earned his master’s degree in business administration, and a doctorate in human resources management. He also attended business school in New Mexico, U.S.A.. Frank is fluent in German and English.
