Maite Mijares is a consultant in Spencer Stuart’s Bogota office and is a member of the firm’s Life Sciences and Consumer Goods & Services practices. She brings more than 15 years of talent management and development experience to the firm as well as specialized expertise in the sectors she serves.
Maite has conducted senior-level searches for clients such as Novartis de Venezuela, Wyeth Laboratories, Abbott Labs, Frito Lay, Philipp Morris International, Citibank and Odebrecht. Recent key searches include the CEO and Regulatory Affairs Director of Nycomed Venezuela, the Vice President of BBDO Venezuela, among others.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Maite worked as a compensation and benefits consultant, leading projects for the pharmaceutical industry, specifically for companies such as Organon, Novartis, Abbott and Merck. She also led a special project for Merck Sharp & Dohme for two years. Prior to that, she was the lead consultant for the business consulting practice at Pericas, Guerrero & Asociados (Towers Perrin representative in Venezuela and Colombia) for three years.
Maite earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from Andres Bello Catholic University in Caracas as well as a Certificate in Human Resources Development and Performance Management from Oklahoma State University. A native of Venezuela, she speaks Spanish and English.
Maite is married to Daniel Figueroa and together they have two sons, 13 and 10, and a 6-year-old daughter.
