Bret Kidd is a consultant in Spencer Stuart's Dallas office, where he leads the North American efforts of the IT & Business Services Practice and is a member of the Hospitality & Leisure and Direct & Interactive Marketing practices.
Bret has more than 10 years of experience in the consulting and outsourcing industries, including corporate strategy, M&A, venture capital and client management roles at EDS; corporate development work for a startup information technology services company; and consulting engagements for travel and transportation clients in Ernst & Young's strategic advisory services practice. Bret began his career as a special assistant to U.S. Senator Phil Gramm in Washington, D.C.
Immediately prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Bret was in a client management role at EDS, serving as a client executive for Sabre Holdings, one of EDS' top ten clients. Previously, Bret served as vice president of strategy for EDS' global transportation industry group. Following the attacks on September 11, 2001, Bret led EDS' aviation security task force (ASTF), which developed security solutions for the company's airline and government clients. The ASTF testified before the U.S. Senate; its approaches were covered extensively in the media and many ultimately were adopted by the Transportation Security Administration.
Also at EDS, Bret was director of corporate strategy, where he led numerous projects, including merger and acquisition activities, business development programs, the launching of EDS Ventures (EDS' venture capital program) and the repositioning of EDS’ core outsourcing business. Prior to EDS, Bret was part of Ernst & Young's Strategic Advisory Services Practice, where he managed operational strategy and supply chain engagements for Fortune 500 firms.
Bret earned a B.B.A. in management from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Bret, his wife, Kristin, and daughter, Grace, live in Southlake, Texas. They are active in their church and enjoy traveling, photography and football.
