William Alexander serves as the global practice leader for Spencer Stuart's Technology, Communications & Media Practice and previously led the practice in Europe, the Middle East and India. He is also a member of the Board and CEO Practice. He specializes in the appointments of senior executives and nonexecutive directors within the converging arenas of software, cloud computing, media and telecommunications. William leads searches for both listed and private equity held corporate clients. Since he joined Spencer Stuart in 2005, William has worked on several critical leadership transitions that have occurred in this rapidly changing sector.
Before joining Spencer Stuart, William helped establish and led MetaPack, a venture capital-backed software company, from start-up to sustainable profitability. Prior to this, he was IBM's worldwide manager for retail supply chain solutions and the finance and development director at Broadsystem, the interactive media division of News International. He started his career as a strategy consultant with Bain & Company.
William studied politics, philosophy and economics at Oriel College, Oxford, and has an M.B.A. from INSEAD.
