Thomas Daniels is based in New York and is a member of Spencer Stuart's Financial Officer, Financial Services, Private Equity and Diversity practices. Since joining the firm, he has been involved in senior-level assignments for a number of companies, including ABN AMRO, ADP, Apollo Management, AQR, Bear Stearns, Discover Financial Services, Dunkin Brands, Eaton Vance, Fannie Mae, HSBC, Interpublic Group, Morgan Stanley, NASD, Washington Mutual, and the Federal Reserve Banks of Chicago and St. Louis. His intellectual capital contributions include The Global 50: Perspectives of Leading Audit Committee Chairs and “The Global 50: Perspectives on Emerging Leaders in Finance.”
Tom brings more than 20 years of investment banking and financial services experience to Spencer Stuart, working previously for J.P. Morgan Chase and its various predecessor companies, including Bank One Capital Markets, J.P. Morgan Securities, Chase Securities and American National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago. He was a managing director with client coverage responsibilities for global consumer product, diversified industrial and emerging technology companies, working on transactions that included M&A advisory assignments, public and private debt and equity issuances, and cross-border financings. During his tenure, he also served as the senior banker responsible for investment banking recruiting.
Prior to his banking career, Tom worked for the Intergovernmental Committee for Migration in Singapore and Indonesia, where he aided in the resettling of Vietnamese refugees, and for the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., as a legislative assistant and congressional page.
Tom graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. with highest distinction in Asian Studies, has an M.B.A. in finance from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and attended Beijing Normal University in the People’s Republic of China. He also serves on the Dartmouth Alumni Council
