Andrea Pecchio
Andrea Pecchio leads the Italian operations of the firm's Financial Services Practice, focusing his activities on banks, insurance companies and real estate companies. Andrea has a 23-year professional experience acquired in several institutions in various sectors including energy, banking, real estate and consulting. After having spent four years as an energy economist, in 1984, Andrea joined Chase Manhattan Bank, working first in London and later in Milan, in credit, commercial banking and investment banking, where ultimately he was responsible for the development of new derivative products in Italy. From Chase Manhattan Bank, Andrea moved to McKinsey, initially in New York and Zurich and later in Milan, where he led major projects for top-tier Italian banks and insurance companies. After McKinsey, Andrea operated in the real estate sector as general manager of UNIM, which was, at the time, the largest listed real estate company in continental Europe with a market capitalisation of about € 2.5 billion. After the successful tender offer of Pirelli on UNIM, Andrea contributed to the development of Pirelli in this sector covering, amongst others, the position of director of Pirelli Real Estate. Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Andrea was managing director for Italy of Oliver, Wyman and Company, where he launched and established the firm's presence on the Italian market. Andrea holds a degree in economics from the University of Rome and was a researcher with the Department of Economics of Harvard University. His native language is Italian and he speaks fluent English.
