Ann Blinkhorn is a core member of the firm’s Technology, Communications & Media Practice. Ann has deep experience serving clients in all sectors of the media industry, and has led senior-level engagements for clients such as Comcast, Dow Jones & Company, Microsoft Corporation, MTV Networks and PBS, among others. She leads searches in the firm’s cable and newspaper sectors, and has developed an expertise in helping established media and communications companies as they transform their businesses to provide enhanced and newly digital products and services across multiple media platforms. Ann also has worked closely with leading private equity firms in recruiting senior-level talent to media and communications portfolio companies.
Ann’s background includes 20 years of media operating experience combined with executive search experience. She held a number of management roles with The New York Times Company, and worked across the company’s diverse portfolio of cable, broadcast, magazine and newspaper businesses. Ann served as publisher of the first foreign-language edition of The New York Times, a joint venture in Russia with The Moscow News. She also served as president of the North American division of the International Herald Tribune, a Times affiliate.
In addition to her background with established media businesses, Ann also has entrepreneurial digital media experience. She was part of the founding management team of zUniversity, where she launched and ran an online recruitment business. Ann’s earlier experience includes four years as an executive recruiter with another leading global search firm.
Ann earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an A.B. degree from Smith College. She serves on the advisory board of the Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics, and Public Policy at Harvard University.
