Bruce Lachenauer manages Spencer Stuart's Los Angeles and Orange County offices. He is an active member of the firm’s Board Services Practice and a former leader of the global Computing Systems and Semiconductor practices. Bruce has completed hundreds of executive and board director search assignments since entering the industry in 1995. He has assisted companies ranging from Fortune 100 technology companies to early-stage venture capital-backed startups with multiple executive and board placements in all regions of the world.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart in 2002, Bruce was a senior partner with another leading international executive search firm, where his experience included serving as country manager for the firm’s operation in Mexico. Before beginning his career in executive search, Bruce enjoyed a broad set of industry experiences. He began his career with IBM and later joined a private equity firm, serving as CEO of one of the portfolio companies he acquired. After recruiting a successor to lead the portfolio company, Bruce joined an early-stage technology company that he helped grow and ultimately sold to a large competitor.
Bruce presents in a variety of forums on topics ranging from the war for talent to board governance. He is a member of the board of directors of Octane, Orange County's principal business growth and development organization. A 1981 graduate of Northwestern University with a B.A. in economics, Bruce earned an M.B.A from Harvard Business School in 1987.
