Based in Vienna, Gerd Wilhelm brings many years of multi-country search experience to the firm's Central and Eastern European practice. His industry expertise is broad-based, ranging from industrial to consumer goods, telecommunications to financial services.
Before joining Spencer Stuart, Gerd was founder and executive partner of Hager, Wilhelm and Partner, Austria's first executive-search company which became part of Spencer Stuart in 1998. In addition to his consulting work, he built the firm's extensive network of offices across Central and Eastern Europe and served as chief marketing director. Prior to that, Gerd was executive partner at H. Neumann International (HNI), where he established the Salzburg office and launched the firm's business in Austria. In 1982, Gerd was elected to head up HNI's international office. For the next three years, as executive partner of the 'international office,' his primary function was to promote the firm at European and global corporations, coordinate and conduct pan-European assignments and extend the firm's network. Earlier in his career, Gerd worked for Ratio, a management consulting company in Austria.
Gerd earned a degree in business and administration from the University of Economics in Vienna. He speaks German and English.
