Sharon Rudy is a member of Spencer Stuart's global Technology, Communications & Media Practice, Human Resources Practice and the Education, Nonprofit & Public Policy Practice, leading the practice in Canada. She has conducted senior-level assignments for private, public and nonprofit organizations, ranging in size from early-stage, venture-backed companies to global organizations. Recent clients include Yahoo!, TELUS, University of Toronto, Wilfrid Laurier University, Cancer Care Ontario, Canada Health Infoway, Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network and the MS Society of Canada. Sharon manages the firm's relationship with Research in Motion and she also has worked on multiple searches with EdgeStone Capital Partners. Sharon launched the Toronto office's annual Human Resources Summit in 2001.
Sharon is a director and human resources committee chair of the Accelerator Centre at the University of Waterloo and an advisory board member of the Schlegel Centre for Entrepreneurship at Wilfrid Laurier University. Sharon is a volunteer committee member with Kids Help Phone and an active member of the Waterloo-based Communitech Technology Association.
Before joining Spencer Stuart as a consultant in 1999, Sharon spent more than three years with an international search firm as senior associate and associate director based in Toronto. Prior to entering search, Sharon taught at Queen's University, and worked for the International Affairs Directorate of Environment Canada and for Public Affairs International in Ottawa. She also held positions in marketing and public affairs at IBM Canada in Toronto.
Sharon holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in history from Queen's University in Kingston and a B.A. in history and economics from the University of Waterloo.
