Michael C. Bruce manages Spencer Stuart's Greater China offices. He joined the firm after 21 years of domestic and international experience in consulting and line management in commercial and merchant banking. Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, he was a partner with another major executive search firm and, before that, served as head of the corporate banking group at First Interstate Bank in Los Angeles.
Mike is a core member of the firm's Board Services, Financial Services and Financial Officer practices. He serves a broad range of clients in financial services, including commercial and investment banking, asset management and mortgage banking companies. He recruits senior financial officers across industries and consults with boards on their director recruiting and related needs.
At First Interstate Bank, Mike was responsible for business origination across all product lines for general corporate clients, specialized industries and financial institutions nationwide. He managed offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco.
Prior to his domestic banking assignments, Mike managed international banking operations in Northern, Central and Eastern Europe and Brazil.
Mike is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College and earned a master's degree from the American Graduate School of International Management.
