Jason Baumgarten is a member of the firm’s Technology, Communications & Media Practice and has deep expertise in software, infrastructure, online services and digital media. He is also a member of the firm’s Business & Professional Services Practice.
Jason rejoined Spencer Stuart from McKinsey & Company, where he was an associate principal and a leader in the firm’s technology, media and service operations practices. At McKinsey, Jason advised some of the world’s largest technology and media companies on topics ranging from growth and innovation to organizational design. He also worked with many organizations, from government agencies to large retailers, facing disruptions from new channels and technologies.
Earlier in his career, Jason was at Microsoft, where he worked on strategic marketing for MSN. Prior to that, Jason worked on senior-level consumer technology and media searches at Spencer Stuart as a member of the Technology, Communications & Media Practice. Jason launched his career in the media planning team at Ogilvy & Mather Advertising in New York.
Jason holds a M.B.A. from Stanford and a B.A. in economics from Vassar College. He serves on the Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Board of Directors and is an active member of the Seattle not-for-profit community.
