Our client — a diversified technology and manufacturing leader — needed to seed the organization with high-potential executives who would eventually run the company’s individual businesses.
Action
While we had placed this industrial company’s new CEO, the organization continued to work with a number of other search firms. When the organization saw that we were conducting many of the top searches within their industry, however, they turned to us to help them recruit high-potential consulting executives with strong strategic backgrounds.
We purposely targeted consulting firms, looking for quality talent who wanted the opportunity to apply their strategic skills in a hands-on environment and who had the potential to run the client’s businesses within a year or so. The candidates were consultants with MBAs who had strong business backgrounds and were well-versed in operations.
Once identified, our team counseled these high-performers on the potential career change and the opportunities it presented for hands-on operational experience.
Results
Over the past two years, we completed a number of strategy searches for this client. To make these lasting placements for both the company and the executive, it was imperative that both parties were comfortable with the opportunities for growth.
